Three Years Later Izariah- “Will you hurry up already? You don’t want to be late to your own graduation!” Rachel, my new best friend and Jace’s mate yelled from the front door of the house that I lived in with Braxton. After we officially moved to the pack, we stayed in the packhouse with his father for a bit. On the day of Braxton’s graduation, which had been two years ago, he surprised me with the keys to our own house. He explained that he hadn’t wanted to live with his father or in a house that had too many bad memories. “I am coming!” I yelled from the bathroom, where I was putting the finishing touches on my hair. As I inspected my reflection, I was reminded of the first day that I met Braxton. That morning I had been running late to class and my old friend and roommate had yelled at me to hurry. I had just barely made it in time to take my finals that day. I guess no matter how many things have changed from then until now, there were still some things that were never goin
Izariah-I hated days like this when I got a feeling something was going to happen, but I couldn’t figure out what it was. Normally when I got this feeling, something big happened. Sometimes it was a good thing, while other times it wasn’t.I didn’t have time to contemplate it right now because I was about to be late for class. I shouldn’t have spent all night studying in the library the night before my exam finals. My first semester in college and I was going to be late for my first final. It wasn’t that I needed to study hard because I have always excelled academically. I could easily pass a test with just the basics, but I wanted to do more than just simply pass it. The whole reason I left my pack and traveled to the other side of the state was that I wanted to create a better life for myself and my family.I come from a ridiculously small pack, known as Dark Rose Pack, with only twenty-three members. I was the only one who still hasn’t shifted into my wolf form, which I didn’t kno
Izariah-Walking in the direction the shouting was coming from, I was able to hear things clearer. “Leave me alone! I told you that I didn’t mean to!” A young man was shouting.Coming around the corner of a building, I saw a group of four men surrounding a smaller man. They all looked about twenty years old or so, while the smaller man looked to be about sixteen. The four men towered over the smaller one, not giving him any room to escape.“I don’t care if you didn’t mean to or not. You will pay for my bike, or I will make you pay with your life.” One of the four men growled at the younger man.Not sure what was going on, I looked around and saw that there were four motorcycles parked a couple of yards away. One had a mirror hanging off it. I had a feeling it had something to do with that.Thinking this wasn’t enough to get worked up with and threaten someone’s life, I started forward. “Is this really necessary? It is clear you guys are scaring the poor kid. Let’s just calm down and w
Braxton- Izariah, Izariah, Izariah. I replayed the name in my head as I pinched the identification card I held in my hand. I wanted to engrain the name in my head so I could focus all my energy on the one that made me look like a fool. Where did she get off thinking she could talk to me like that? She must have a death wish. Never in my life have I ever been insulted by anyone. Not to mention she had the audacity to attack me and did not think I would retaliate. At first, I hadn’t made a move because I had been both pissed off and shocked by her actions. It had taken everything I possessed to not let my wolf unleash his fury on her. Now, I think I should have just let him out. I had to admit that she did intrigue me though, with her ability to not obey my command. She couldn’t be more than a low-level wolf, barely worth my time. When I interacted with her, I hardly sensed her wolf, which was probably because her wolf was weak. Unable to figure out how she could withstand an Alpha
Izariah-Finally, today was the day we would be getting the results back from our exam, that we took a week ago. Staring at my phone, I was growing impatient as I waited. My roommate had already received hers, but I was still waiting. The longer it took to receive my results, the more I started to worry. I felt that I did good, but maybe I had messed up because I had been in a rush to get out of there. My anxiety was at an all-time high right now, which was obvious as I bounced my leg up and down.“Try refreshing it. It could be possible that it is taking a while because everyone is receiving them around the same time. It could just be the system is overwhelmed.” My roommate suggested.Tapping on the refresh button, I waited for the page to load. When I didn’t think I could take it any longer, the screen changed, and my results now appeared. I let out a squeal as I jumped off the small couch that was in our dorm room.“I passed!” I yelled.“You act like this is a surprise. Obviously,
Izariah-Monday morning couldn’t come soon enough. I was already settled in my new dorm room, which I currently had to myself. I was told that my roommate had gone home for a family emergency and wouldn’t be back until later today. The only downside I have noticed about this school so far is how large it is. It was five times the size of my last school and the buildings looked like an older historical castle. Everything was modern and extravagant, but it had a creepy haunted house vibe.It wasn’t just one building, there were six main buildings, which were all similar in size and structure, along with many smaller buildings that looked like extensions of the main buildings. They all had their own unique charm to them; I just couldn’t get over the spookiness.I imagined it was going to take some time to adjust to the atmosphere here. Maybe the vibes I was getting were nothing more than just me feeling completely underqualified to be here. Since my arrival Saturday afternoon, I haven’t
Izariah-My morning class went by without a hitch. The other students didn’t bother me, and I liked the professor. I even managed to not worry about what Braxton had in store for me. However, I quickly learned that it was just temporary. The moment I stepped out of class, Braxton was standing out in the hall with the three guys I saw with him the first time. I didn’t know their names, but I had a feeling I was soon going to find out. Before I made it three feet outside of the classroom, they swarmed me like vultures.“Iza, what a coincidence to have run into you.” Braxton said with a gleam in his eyes and a smirk tilted on his lips.“You call this a coincidence? I have a feeling that you planned this. What do you want?” I in a snarky tone.“Just to walk you to your next class. We all take the same Masterclass.” He gave me a smile that I could tell was bogus. He did look good when he smiled, but I would much rather have him scowling at me. At least then I would not be tempted to think
Izariah-All throughout the class, I managed to ignore Braxton, even though he tried endlessly to get my attention. When class was dismissed, they were the first to leave. I thought it was strange how easily he gave up, but I didn’t let it bother me.With nothing else to do and no homework to worry about, I decided to head to the gym to get a workout in before heading to my dorm. I always tried to get as much exercise in as I could, being that I didn’t have my wolf to help protect me. If I was going to be able to stand up to bullies like Braxton, I had to keep my strength in.Tomorrow I would be able to start training with everyone, which I was looking forward to. Luckily, there was a gym near my dorm so I could grab a change of clothes I could work out in and my hygiene supplies. It took me a while to get there, being that my dorm and the gym were on the far side of campus. When I arrived, I was surprised that I was the only one there. When I entered the locker room, I found an empty
