Chapter 26 – A decision to trust
“Are you really that afraid I would cheat on you? I know you have issues, and you have your reasons, too… but can’t you trust me a little? I agreed to your conditions, didn’t I? I made promises to you. I won’t betray you.”

Slowly, she pulled back her hand from his shoulder. Feeling its movement, Wayne caught it and sighed.
She’s right. He trusted her in all other areas, except… her faithfulness to him. Unconsciously, he’d always questioned it. Whenever something comes up that might prove infidelity, he always assumes that she had betrayed him. He feels sick to his stomach at the realization.
He intertwined his fingers with hers and brought it to his lips. He kissed her knuckles. Her heart skipped a beat at his display of gentleness.
