CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN

GAVNER

I had just returned from the hospital, walking through the hallway as the radiant sun sipped its rays on the marble floor.

"Gavner," a familiar voice called, one I could never forget.

It may seem like I had forgotten my aim, but the truth is that I was confused. I wanted to make it up to Nora, even when I knew it wasn't going to be easy.

I turned around, facing Horace, as he walked up to me. My heart thudded faster like I was scared about something, but I waved it off.

"Why did you stop me?" I asked, as his eyes were glued to me.

I wondered why he stared at me like that. I hated it. "When did you return from the hospital?" he asked, not taking his eyes away from me.

"You have no right to ask me that!" I spat.

He seemed to have forgotten that I am his elder brother, just because the Alpha didn't give him the right to walk up to me and demand my whereabouts.

"I have the right to, I'm the Alpha," he said fiercely, slipping his hands into his jacket.

I was sick and tired of it all,
