CHAPTER NINETY EIGHT

NORA

I strode through the hallway, knocking before one of the maidens pushed the door open.

The door creaked open as the maiden ushered me in.

I took a deep breath and walked into Queen Shiba's chambers. Looking around the room, I sighted her sitting on a chair as she looked out the window.

She turned around, her eyes met mine like she knew I was there or she was expecting me.

"Nora, I'm surprised to see you here," she said, her voice faint.

I knew she was meant to be surprised because, ever since I stepped my feet into this castle, I have never stepped foot inside her chamber.

"Yes, my queen," I said, slightly bowing my head before her. "I wanted to visit and also know how you are fairing."

I stood for a while before offering myself a chair and sitting, even though I was not comfortable.

I had no idea why, but I felt great coming to see her.

Ever since I came into the castle, I wasn't blind to notice that Queen Shiba and Gavner weren't on good terms with Queen Nadia and Horace.
