CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWO

"How is he doing?" I asked, staring at Nickolas as he slept peacefully.

Watching his warm and trouble-free sleeping face gave me peace, making me wonder how my days were when I was a baby.

My mind flashed back to Hernandez as I was worried, scared, and having doubts.

What if he didn't lose his memory of what he saw, and what if he decides to tell on me? I knew for sure that it would cause a lot of chaos in the castle.

It will be tagged as treason, and I didn't want to be part of any of that.

If I can live a peaceful life, I want to live it for as long as I can.

"He is fine... he's been doing fine, surprisingly. Even when he is away from his mother," Evelyn spilled out to me, and I was glad he was fine.

I knew of some kids who couldn't live without their mother and struggled for as long as they could, and at the end of it all, they'd end up dying.

"He has a strong spirit... I believe so." Evelyn added as she handed Nickolas over to me to cradle for the time being.
