Hurt For Her

Elora's POV

The morning light pierced through the window, forcing my eyes open. The brightness felt intrusive, as if refusing to let me rest any longer. I wanted to sleep more, but it seemed impossible now.

Still trying to gather my thoughts, I was abruptly pulled out of my reverie by the loud clattering of a glass bottle on the ground, making me snap my eyes to the direction of the door.

“Bryce can’t be awake by this time, right?” I mumbled, my breaths coming out in heavy gasps, my eyes widening in shock.

“Are we in danger?” I asked myself, climbing out of bed.

After what had happened last night, I couldn’t help but feel uneasy. Everything seemed wrong, like we were in danger, and there was no way we would survive if they got a strong hold of us.
