Killian's POV

Just as she turned around, I couldn't help it; I couldn't let my own best friend, my mate, and Luna walk out on me that way. Without hesitation and a second thought, I charged towards her, grabbed her hand, and turned her back to me.

“Please don’t do this, Elora… Imagining a life without you is hell on its own, let alone living it! Please!” I begged, swallowing my pride just to get what I wanted.

Just as Beta Dayton had urged me back at the mansion, he had warned me clearly not to be harsh towards her. He had told me to make her see how much I loved her, and that was what I was doing or trying to do.

I needed her to see how much I loved her, but I guess what I did wasn't enough. She immediately pulled her hand out of my grip, and before I could utter another word, she spun on her heels and ran out of my sight.
