Chapter One hundred and Forty Nine

Allegra’s Pov

I woke up to commotion. I check, but Xander isn't on the bed. Getting up, I put on clothes.

As I step out of the room, the commotion outside only seems to intensify, with pack members hurrying back and forth, their voices filled with urgency and concern. My heart quickens with apprehension, and my mind races with questions as I scan the chaotic scene for any sign of Xander.

“Richard!” I call out, spotting him amidst the flurry of activity. He turns towards me, his expression grave as he approaches.

“What's going on? Why is everyone running around like this?” I demanded, my voice edged with worry.

Richard places a gentle hand on my shoulder, guiding me back into the room with a solemn expression. “Allegra, I need you to stay here for now. There's been an incident, and Xander has ordered that you remain inside,” he explains, his tone heavy with concern.

My heart sinks at his words, a knot of fear tightening in my chest. “What happened? Can you at least tell me that?” I pre
