Chapter One hundred and Forty Three

Xander’s Pov

Even though I would rather not revisit the memory, I know I have to for Allegra's sake.

“She tried to steal my powers,” I admit, my voice barely a whisper as I speak the words aloud for the first time in years. “She wanted to use them for her gain, even if it meant destroying me in the process.”

Allegra's eyes widened with shock, her hand tightening around mine in a silent gesture of support. “Xander, I'm so sorry,” she murmurs, her voice filled with empathy. “That must have been incredibly difficult for you.”

I nod, grateful for her understanding as I continue to unravel the painful memories of my past. “It was,” I admit, my voice barely above a whisper. “But I've learned to move past it, to focus on the present and the future rather than dwelling on the past.”

Silver nods in agreement, her expression one of solidarity as she offers her support. “We're here for you, Xander,” she says firmly, her voice filled with determination. “Whatever happens, we'll face it together.
