Chapter 28: Second Chance Mate

For a moment Pascal felt as if his soul had left his body, and he reached out to the woman, his mind attempting to connect with hers. She stood still and briefly allowed him to link with her mind before abruptly ending the connection and hurrying away, disappearing quickly through the doorways.

Katie Clyde, puzzled and alarmed, turned to Pascal. "Who is she, Pascal?" she asked, unable to hide her curiosity.
