Rhea did not realize what had happened until it was too late. Her head was spinning and her eyes were as Xavier’s lips locked with hers. Xavier struggled to get himself out of the stranger’s grip without result. The night was dark and the sky was starless. It took them another thirty minutes of running before they could get away from danger and even then, they could still occasionally hear the voices of the Lycans that were looking for them in the woods. Rhea was tired and suggested that they slowed down a bit. Xavier didn’t like the idea of reducing the pace and subsequently, the distance between them and the werewolves that were pursuing after them but he didn’t really have a choice. He understood that she had been in the dungeons for some time, without good food and water and so, she needed to rest a bit. They slowed down as they walked further into the woods and Xavier turned occasionally to make sure that no one was following them behind. “We have not yet mastered the art of sneaking up on our enemies,” Rhea shrugged, noticing that Xavier was looking behind him every minute. “So don’t worry yourself about a Lycan attacking us from behind. Salvador walked out of the herd of Lycans grinning and Xavier recognized him immediately as the Lycan that he had almost fought with before Rhea’s quick intervention.“It’s Salvador,” Salvador smiled at him. “Not Salad or whatever you called it.”“Sounds like the same name to me,” Xavier shrugged. “Dumb anyways. “Come on Rhea!” Xavier called but she had already started walking back inside the cabin. In less than a minute, she was out of sight and Xavier was left facing four Lycans with really bad intentions for him.“Don’t be a pussy,” Salvador laughed and drew out his sword. “Come on let’s fight like men and let’s see who would have her.” Xavier turned to face him and shook his head. He drew out his own sword and steadied himself preparing for his attack. He was not one bit scared of Salvador even after all that Rhea had said. He was very confident that he was going to kill him.Salvador attacked him as soon as he drew out his sword, not even giving him any further time to think and Xavier found himself on the defensive immediately. Xavier side stepped and moved back a couple times, trying his best to dodge Salvador’s blows and fortunately for him, he was able to get by the first five strikes without a single scratch.
