ISABELLE'S POV— 74

"A thief! Catch him!" An old man with pot belly rushes out of the small space, pointing towards the kid. "Stop him!"

Kesem turns back, and with speed, the young boy passes us, running and panting with a huge bag over his shoulders. The man rans towards us, and the moment he spots me, he bows, running past us to catch the boy.

"Kesem?" I call, and he steps forward. "How many thieves do we see every day in the palace?"

"Not a lot, the people ain't actually satisfied with what they have," he says, and I chuckle.

I have been a servant once, yes, the people aren't satisfied with what they have, because it's not their fault, while they till the ground, working their lives out, the royals eat like they earned it. Partly they do, being a royal now, it's a little understanding, being a royal who's a wife to a kind king. Yes, it's a little understanding because I know no normal king would risk their life to go to war when he has subs.
