"Do I have to pack anything?"

I paused after asking the question. Antonio didn't even flinch or move.

"This is different from your escape plan. You don't have to pack anything," he said, jokingly.

My countenance went down. It was obvious he was still angered by my actions the previous week.

"I'm sorry, Antonio. I……..." I stuttered.

"Whatever you want to take, take it now. I am not bringing you back here. Not anymore!" Antonio echoed.

I could sense the anger in his tone. "Antonio," I whispered his name but he didn't respond.

I moved towards him and put my arms around him. I didn't think that would pacify him but at least I tried.

Surprisingly, he placed his hands on my cheeks and gave me a kiss on my forehead.

"Get prepared," he said immediately.

Something in me wanted to seize the opportunity to talk back at him but I kept mute. Getting on his nerves would be the wrong move to make at the moment.
