Help from a predator?

Meera was beyond upset the next morning. It had been an annoying night for her, to say the least. The memory of her waiting at that damned path for someone to show up was enough to make her blow a fuse at whomever she came across. If only she had found a clue, or found someone on the path. It could have been anyone; anyone would have been suitable enough, for to the witch, it was better for her to find a clue as fast as possible.

Increasingly sullen and with bruised pride, the witch had deliberately gone to seek out the maid from before and killed her. Meera had felt her bloodlust be satiated just a little as she had watched the light of life go out from the poor maid’s eyes.

The fierce and fearsome witch had retreated to her room after that and spent the night sulking and lashing out with magic at various objects in her room, making a mess of everywhere.
