Chapter 50

The moon was high in the sky, and Eleanor was asleep, her position like a fetus in the mother's womb.

She turned several times and murmured.

It was cold but Eleanor had successfully yanked the blanket away from her body. She felt heat all of a sudden and the perspiration that trickled down her forehead was clear evidence of it.

"You can as well die," she murmured the more, her face squeezed in total concentration. She turned again, this time, pushing off the pillow and curving even more in.

She spoke over and over like a pup having a nightmare. She cursed severally as if it was normal.

Suddenly, there was a slight movement of her hand and the shaking of her head. But all of a sudden, it stopped and Eleanor rose. Her eyes were bright and red and her hair was scattered over her face.

Her gaze searched around the room quickly like someone looking for its prey. A smile curved up on her face as she got up from the bed and walked out of the room.

She stood at the door and mumbled
