Mark's POVOne minute I was kneeling down on the snowy forest ground, desperately trying to shift into my wolf and the next minute I was right in the middle of...my pack?!Fear suddenly engulfed me as I looked around, sighting numerous burning buildings and trees. The skies were bright, burning red and screams of terror and agony filled the air but I saw no one. Not a single person was outside, running to safety. It puzzled me.I quickly stood up from the ground where I had been kneeling. Looking around frantically for some explanation to what the hell was going on? How am I here? Why is my pack suddenly on fire? Where are the members of my pack.I started tracing the noises to various burning buildings. I walked up to a building that was literally burning down, screams and calls for help coming from within. I called out and even quickly got in to check on whoever was crying for help, only to be met with nothing, no one. I continued like this, from one building to another."Anybody the
Mark's POV"Quick! To the borders. Let's get out of here." Killian shouted as he and some Deltas ran towards a portion of the woods that marks the beginning of the Pack's outskirts. I followed closely behind everyone as I looked over my shoulders at the vicious rogue wolves that were after us. They were gradually gaining on us, as they were all basically in wolf forms.Truly, this has to be some sort of illusion like Cara said; rogues dare not wander anyway near our territory, talk more of having the effrontery to attack us. However, the fact that we've lost connections to our wolf side would really give them some advantage."Alpha Mark, lookout! " The Omega kid, Leona called out as she ran, looking at some thing behind me.I looked back just in time to see a large wolf, leaping towards me with some really murderous glint in its eyes. I ducked, making the creature miss me on the air and fall with it's face to the ground."Keep running, you guys! I'll buy us some time." I shouted at Ca
Mark's POVI turned around just in time to see Bruno, hitting a rogue behind me with a big stick. It must have been trying to sneak up on me."Uh oh!" Bruno exclaimed as the rogue let out a low, ferocious growl at him. Cara grabbed its neck and twisted it in an instant, making me sigh in releif because I literally had another rogue biting hard on my right arm. Killian and seven other Deltas were all busy fighting off rogues, even Claire and the Omega kid had already armed themselves with sticks and iron bars, swinging them around wildly. The rouges kept on coming at us from all directions. We were now basically surrounded by vicious, blood thirsty rogues, making us back up against each other as we fought them off. No claws, no fangs, no wolf ; just pure aggression and the strong determination to survive.I was finally able to shake off the rogue from my arm, hurling it right into a nearby flame. My arm was badly injured and I had claw marks all over my body. Cara was also in a pret
Abigail's pov"I'm really starting to think we made a mistake by bringing this sword." Fernando whined, as he looked down at the katana that had been used to impale him yet again. This time, the katana was all the way into his midsection, coming out from behind him and pinning him to a nearby tree. He coughed out some blood, holding onto the weapon."That's a katana....and, bringing it was totally your idea." I told Fernando, as I dodged a few, frantic attacks from Iñari. The plan was to get her to keep coming at us, till she finally becomes fatigued enough for Athena to take over. That is when we'll strike."Also, didn't you suggest that stabbing you might jog her memory?" I reminded my brother as he yanked out the katana from his body, unpinning himself to the tree."I get it.. I do make a lot of bad decision." He rolled his eyes dramatically, tossing the katana aside."Why won't you just die?!" Iñari yelled out in rage, as she swipe her daggers at me for like the thousandth time. S
Abigail's povI caught Cara's fist, just a few inches away from my face."Damn it!" She swore below her breath."Don't feel bad, that was really close." I smirked, before delivering a quick palm strike to her solar plexus. It sent her falling backwards on the floor of the gym. Good thing other wolves weren't around to watch one of their Alphas casually getting her ass kicked."Ugh! What's that for?" Cara groaned, clutching her torso and curling into a fetal position."My bad! I thought an Alpha would be able to see that one coming." I tutted, earning a glare from her.We had been sparring at one of the pack gyms for hours, working on various attack and defense techniques. Cara felt like after all that has happened for the past few days, being a much better fighter should be her utmost priority. I couldn't agree more. It's been a couple days since the battle against Iñari and her vixens. We were able to save Athena, free her from Iñari's mind possession. The process was a very exhausti
Abigail's pov"Abby? I swear if you don't come out here this instant!" Cara yelled out to me from the living room. I was currently in front of a sink in our bathroom, puking my guts out. Turns out you can't have too many ale without repercussions.I gave my self one final look, after I rinsed my face with warm water from the faucet. I hung a towel around my neck as I went out of the bathroom to meet the impatient she wolf.I saw her helping Athena with the zip of her dress, both of them looking so elegantly dressed in black. I whined internally, not really ready to play "dress up"."Are these really necessary?" I asked Cara, silently dreading her answer."Hell yeah! You can't be going to your first bonfire ever, looking like that." Cara turned around to glare at me, as I stood in front of my bed, eyeing the black, shiny dress on it."What do you mean by that?" I frowned in curiosity at Cara's earlier statement."Your hair's terrible." Athena bluntly replied, making me gasp and place m
Abigail's povSilence, and an overwhelming aura of sobriety washed over the crowd of werewolves, as Mark set the corpses ablaze. There were seven wrapped bodies in total, including that of Elder Moriah.Chilly, winter wind hit the open parts of my body, making me shiver lightly and clench my teeth. I really should have worn pyjamas...how could I not have considered the damn snow? It was still snowing pretty lightly, even when the cold was nothing light. I literally had goosebumps all over and I had to fold my arms awkwardly. Athena, who didn't seemed to be even slightly bothered by the cold, looked at me in question. She smiled when she finally figured out what was going on. Now that I observed, none of the wolves seemed to be bothered by the cold. Hell! Even Mark and the other Alphas were shirtless.Cara suddenly grabbed me in an embrace, wailing and sniffing loudly ... again with the overt display of emotions. I tried to shake her off me, but she only wailed louder, making me roll
Abigail's povIt's been over 48 hours since the pack's bonfire and Zina's unwanted visit. Most of the pack member had basically gone back to giving me dirty looks and all. I swear, these folks would believe anything!Cara's huge, black wolf suddenly grunted as she lowered her snout to the ground. She had caught a scent. I smiled. We were currently in a part of the woods, looking for any creature that could pass for a big kill. Cara's wolf particular loved this idea because she wanted to impress her mate; show him just how capable she is. She specifically asked me not to invite Athena to join our little hunting mission... something about being given "bad energy." Athena herself, hasn't been too available recently. She had been spending so much alone time either in a room with her katana or typing away on her smart phone. If not for those aforementioned reasons, I would have invited Athena, regardless of what Cara told me. I could really use some bickering between those two, as we expl
