Jonathan pinned her with a glare. “Lying is not going to save you,” he growled.

“I’m not lying,” she claimed, digging her heels into the floor to keep the warrior from dragging her farther away. “I’m pregnant, and you are the father. But I told Thomas the baby is his. Think about it. When the child is born, we can use it as leverage to claim Blackstorm’s territory. He does not have another child. As far as he is concerned, this is his heir!”

Jonathan gripped his chair hard, digging his fingers into the leather.

Mia noticed the hesitance on his face and jumped on the chance to change his mind. “If you kill me right now, you’ll lose every connection to Blackstorm. I’ve made many friends and allies in the pack. I can still use them to get what you want. I promise you, Alpha, I’ll get back everything that has been lost. I’ll do whatever it takes to fix my mistake!”
