A few minutes passed in silence and I disengaged from the hug after he exhaled heavily and turned around to face me.

"Wesley, there's nothing she could say to me that would change my mind about you." I tried to reassure him. After he nodded, I took a step back, looking around the house to make sure no one was watching before I spoke. "Wesley. I saw something in the woods earlier."

"What was that?" He tilted his head to the side, furrowing his brows.

"I don't know, but I think...." I paused and exhaled, before adding. "I think it was the killer."
