The chair creaked, as I adjusted my position on it. My eyes darted towards Amber, whose eyes were peacefully shut. Relief, adoration, and gladness all in one gushed through me.

Goddess knew how I had survived the past few months. It had almost been a year, since we've been apart. Five months was it?

The doctor walked in, accompanied by Brandon, and Gaius. They all bowed, and all, except the doctor took a seat.

I cleared my throat, and nodded towards the doctor. "Anything found?" I asked, and my heart skipped a beat, when I saw the hesitation on his face.

"Well, she has a broken rib, which would take quite a while to heal. Her leg bones are fractured, and I'd advise she stays in bed for a week or so." He smiled at me.

I didn't reciprocate, my face grim. Fractured bones. The words rang through my mind, and I slammed my hands hard on the armrest. "Those bastards!" I growled.

"I'm going to surely make them pay." It was a vow. Amber stirred at that moment
