CHAPTER 47.

Reene

The absence of warmth, when I touched the bed immediately I woke up, made me sit. I rubbed on my eyes gently, and looked around. Kaden wasn't in the room. I panicked, and just when I was about to scramble off bed, and go in search of him, the door opened.

A smiling Kaden walked in, holding a food tray with both hands.

"Hey sleeping beauty," He said in a singsong tone, and gingerly placed the food tray on the bedside table.

"Why didn't you wake me?" I questioned, and stretched my limbs as comfortably, as I could. The air in the room suddenly smelt sweeter.

"You looked so pretty, that I couldn't bear to wake you up." He said in defense. I shook my head, and smiled.

I watched as he moved over to the windows, and pulled the curtains apart, letting sunlight into the hitherto dark room.

I shut my eyes close to shield my eyes momentarily.

"And what did you cook?" I gestured towards the food tray. It was covered with a silver colored platter, and looked be
