Elena sprang out of her couch. Her escape episode into Toni was over. But that wasn’t the reason why she jumped up from her couch. She jumped up because she heard a strange noise. Someone was opening the door to her apartment.

She could see his frame through the glass. It was a guy.

She ran to get her spatula. That was the only thing she could think of to serve as a weapon then she hid behind her couch and watched the man enter the apartment.

He walked towards her. She ducked further.

“Elena? are you home?” The guy spoke loudly.

She didn’t respond.

“honey, did you go for a run?”

No response still.

She watched him take out his phone and dial. Her phone started to ring. Her phone was on the couch.

Then she got up slowly. He must be someone she knew before the accident because he obviously had a key and had her number. Plus he had called her honey.

“hey,” she said as she stood up fully.

He turned around.

“oh, honey. There you are.”
