The Unforgiving Mate

Kira's POV

My toes curled at the effect of the kiss, I doubt if Xander knows how cute unpredicted kisses are. When he eventually let my lips go, I wasn't ready to end it yet, and Ayla definitely doesn't either. He had an amused look when he stepped back.

“I almost thought you would chew off my lips with how vicious you attacked it.” He mused.

I scoffed, rolling my eyes and trying to steady my shaky breath. “Speak for. yourself, don't try to use reverse psychology on me. You were the one who switched from discussing something serious to intertwining tongues.”

Xander looked unashamed, “I was only endeavoring to lighten the mood. It was too tense.”

A throaty laugh escaped my lips, “Sure, I get that.” I observed him for a second. “There is something you feel doubtful telling me about. What's wrong?”

“Wow, no one told me you were a psychic.”

I sighed, returning to my sitting position. “If we would do this together Xander, it would be nice to not keep anything from each other.”
