“I know grandma but she doesn't look like a good person, I don't like her. You know what grandma, she looks like one of the wicked stepsisters in Cinderella”, Katie said laughing.

Everyone stifled their laughs, Rose turned red in anger.

"You little...", Rose hissed about scolding Katie but Claire was quick to intervene.

"C'mon Katie, bedtime", Claire said, helping Katie out of her chair.

"But..", Katie tried protesting.

"No but dear, now apologize to the young lady", Claire coaxed.

Katie turned to look at Rose hesitantly, "Sorry…”,she blew a raspberry and ran away.

"Don't mind Katie, she's just like that sometimes", Claire gave an apologetic look and walked out.

Rose gave Claire a forced smile, "kids, how much she hated them", she thought.

Why did everyone just hate her in the family? Charles' mum, the little girl, was sure even Charles' dad and elder sister disliked her but they didn't show it. She didn't care cause the Old Man liked her, her strongest backup.
