Chapter 26

Goof

When Silvy called I could tell by her voice that something was wrong. She said the baby and her were fine and I trust her but I know something is off. Especially since she said she would come to the club after her shift instead of me going to her house. Silvy doesn’t come to the clubhouse often and it is usually when we are having a party Merigold and Lilly invited her to. So I have been a little on edge since Silvy hung up. I keep checking my phone watching the time. From the time Silvy hung up till the time she should get here is and hour and thirty minutes.

Five minutes before Silvy is due to arrive I instruct the prospect working the bar to make Silvy’s drink. He looks t me oddly at first but does what I ask when I tell him it is for Silvy. Everyone here adores Silvy so it doesn’t surprise me the prospect gets to work. Just before Silvy walks in the door the prospect sets it on the bar next to my beer. When Silvy walks in I know something is wrong. She is smiling but ever
