Chapter 48 The Ball Part 2

Loraine's Pov

I glanced at Klein who was holding a wine glass, twirling it in his hands and, from time to time, he would sip on it while watching the events with amusement. However, I know that it was just a disguise.

Upon sensing me looking at him, his gaze landed on me and he wiggled his brows.

I smiled at him, and then swiftly excused myself from the ball. They didn't notice that I had left either, and besides, when I went there to see, all I could see was their contempt for them, some of them just looked at me nonchalantly, some minded their own business, and the others were clearly looking at me like I was a clown.

But it didn't matter much anyway. It is a good thing too, since the more they wanted to leave me out of the event, the more that they wouldn't notice that I had just left.

After I left the event along with Klein, who drank the wine in a big gulp, then threw the glass right after, he lowered his necktie and started walking along with me.

“The child?” I asked.
