Chapter 11 The bitterness of the past

Lance’s POV…

The phone continues to vibrate, and I am looking at her retreating form, forgetting about checking who is calling. She brought up the divorce once more. Ever since she had returned, she had been singing one song.

‘Divorce, divorce, and divorce.’

I am so mad.

"Damn it." I slammed my palm on the steering wheel. "Who the fuck is calling me?"

I look at my phone. ‘It’s my grandma!’

I am surprised, thinking why she is phoning me now. We just met, right? Is everything okay?

As I answer the phone, a frown crosses my brow.

"Hello, Grandma."

"Lance, have you reached safely?"

I breathe a sigh of relief when I hear her cheerful voice. She may be calling to confirm whether or not we have arrived at the villa.

"Yes, grandma. I'll get back to you later. Goodnight."

I hang up the phone quickly. I have an important matter to deal with right now. I jump out of the car and dash into the house, my mood stormy.
