Thirty Seven

At seven sharp Thursday, I am woken up by a kick against my abdomen. I grunt in pain as I open my eyes and glare at a sleeping Kelly. I see her face hold a pained emotion before a laugh comes out as her eyes flutter open.

"Good morning sunshine." She says sweetly but my glare intensifies and she lets out a dramatic gasp. "I forgot that you're not a morning person when you have your periods." I don't say anything before she moves back slowly.

"You know what? Just go back to sleep and I'll make your tea as you like it. Do you need any more painkillers? Chocolate? Anything? No? Okay bye." She gets out of bed and walks faster than I've seen her in the couple of days. As soon as she's out of my sight, I let out a full blown smile seeing a glimpse of my friend. She's not there yet but this is progress and anyone can see how much she's trying.

My headache is bearable that I don't need any painkillers to survive and so far I haven't felt any back pain. I lie back
