Twenty Seven

Silence prevails for a few minutes after Aiden's confession. I get up and walk to my room and strip off the clothes I had and change into Aiden's shirt that I came with from his place the first time I slept over and a pair of shorts. I have no intention of leaving the house. When I go back to where I left Aiden, I find him standing, ready to leave.

"You're leaving?" I ask even though it's evident.

"I have things to do. I got a clue of the man who was following you." He says. I can see the warm Aiden has changed to a cold one. The man I met months ago. The man who made me sign a NDA. But now I know better. It's a facade. 'Or maybe he's just a great actor?.' The voice of doubt manifests itself.

"Me too. I've been working on it." I confess. " You promised you'd teach me everything about the gun." I accuse, trying to gauge his reactions. Nothing changes. " You just had to send your brother." I let a scoff before adding in a lower voice but loud enough for him to hear. "Such a pussy. Cowar
