Axel's Pov

Beep, beep, beep

The sound of my wristwatch beeping startled me. I glanced back at the building, muttering Leah's name in concern. Without a moment's hesitation, I unbuckled my seatbelt and dashed out of the car. The continuous beeping of the wristwatch amplified my anxiety as I ran towards the building. "Is Leah okay?" I pondered anxiously, my heart pounding in my throat.

My panic intensified as I reached the entrance and noticed the out-of-order sign on the elevator. I swiftly made my way to the staircase and began climbing, each step heightening my sense of urgency.

"This is why I didn't want her to go alone," I muttered to myself, recalling Jasper's warning to ensure his mother's safety during our undertaking. The weight of responsibility and guilt gnawed at my mind.

"If anything should happen to Leah, I will never forgive myself," I vowed, fueled by fear and determination.
