His voice echoed in the silence, a stark refusal that hung heavy in the air. “We are not leaving,” Chase repeated. His voice was firm and resolute—a single word that shattered my hopes. How could he say no? How could he refuse to come back with me?

She has a helluva lot of nerve! They have a mate and are adults. If they want to be there for their dad then why the hell not. She overthinks everything and wants to control everything. She should be thankful that her sons will be able to take care of themselves. She’s too selfish.
