“Chase, calm down. She’ll be fine. She’s strong. After all, she’s our mother." I tried to reassure my brother once more as we paced back and forth in the small clinic, our nerves frayed.

"I know, I know. But what if she doesn't make it? What if Abby is not able to do something and we lose her?" Chase said, his voice cracking. He looked at me with eyes filled with fear and pain.

I wrapped my arm around Chase’s shoulder, pulling him close. "We won’t lose her," I assured him. "We can’t. She’s not just any member of our pack; she’s our Luna. She’ll pull through. She has to."
