Alana’s POV.

Later that night, after we got back from our room, Kai finally decided to dismiss that guard from the door. I was relieved as I lay wrapped up in his arms, my new favorite position, so to speak. Listening to the rhythm of his heart does things to my inside.

As we lay there in the dark room with only a flicker of moonlight through the window, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotions course through my chest, making me realize how wrong I had been.

I knew that I couldn’t keep quiet any longer. I decided to pour my heart out to Kai, hoping he would understand and help me get our children back.

“Kai, there’s something I need to tell you. Something really important.” I started, and he looked at me with his beautiful blue eyes and smiled. “What is it, love?”
