Delilah's POV:

Rounding the mansion, I reached the back lawn and saw that Xee had already reached there. His hands were bound at his back and he was pacing the length of the gazebo while waiting for me. My scent must have wafted toward him because he suddenly turned his head in my direction.

With quick steps, I made my way to the gazebo and said through the ball of nervousness rolling in my stomach, "Hi."

He moved his hand forward, "Hey, how're you doing?"

I took his hand and helped myself onto the gazebo, "I'm good. You tell?"

His eyes roamed all over my face curiously before they pierced my eyes as he asked, "What's up? Is everything okay?"

I swallowed before nodding my head slowly, "I think so." As he raised his eyebrow in question, I rushed out, "I just wanted to talk to you."

Cocking his head to the side, he inquired, "About what, Dee?"
