Chapter 138

Delilah's POV:

Two days later, it was Adeline's birthday but none of us wished her. At midnight, I pretended to be asleep even though she was wide awake, and as the morning came and we all gathered for breakfast, everyone pretended that we had forgotten her birthday whereas, in reality, we had decided to give her a birthday surprise in the evening.

At university, I refused to meet her at the cafeteria during recess time because all the other girls would be there to wish her. Instead, I spent that time in the library. As it was the time of recess, the library was almost empty except for the receptionist.

Greeting her with a smile, I made my way to my usual table and took the book out of my bag. The book that I had borrowed from the pack library. The title read 'Tales Of The Mates" and the the book itself contained the real stories of the fated as well as chosen mates of the past Alphas.

I had already read more than half of the book and I must admit that it was getting on my nerves now.
