Chapter 10

Xavier's pov.

I still was not satisfied with the report I received from Rune. I just felt drawn to Lyra. I needed to be there.

Rune who had teleported away was yet to return.

He was my eyes and ears outside of this place.

I wasn't ready to face my people, my brother, but I was willing to try, and most especially, for Lyra.

Rune returned but it was with a more dramatic light show than he left.

“That will teach that lout not to double-cross me,” he said as he walked up to the wine cabinet.

“Spells and magic have taken a whole lot out of me today, please let us rest,” Rune said to me.

“You should also have a shot yourself, you look like a drenched wolf cub,” he added.

I looked at him and chuckled, my next news was going to send him into a frenzy, a very wild one at that.

“Drink up and rest and do that quickly. We're heading to the Darkmoon manor at once,”

And just as expected, he gave a dramatic show.

He spat the drink from his mouth and choked on his tongue.
