Thirty seven

It was like she had become an entirely different person.

She picked up her bag and called Davina who she was supposed to go with.

It was already six.

“I’m already downstairs waiting for you.” Davina said.

Then Rachel took one last look at herself in the mirror before leaving her room.

“Rachel I was going to ask you where your brother is and-

Her mother stopped.

“Woah. Is this my daughter? Who are you and what have you done with my daughter?” Her mum asked gawking as she came down the stairs.

“Mum don’t look at me like that.” Rachel pleaded.

“You look so good.” Davina said. “Could barely even recognize you.”

“Why don’t you dress more like this?” Her mum asked. “Do you have any idea who would want to be with you or even follow you?”

“Mum it’s just a party.” Rachel expressed. “You were saying something?”

“I was?” Her mum asked confused. “Yes. Where is that your miserable brother?”

“Oh he told me to tell you he has a game.” Rachel lied.
