Chapter fourteen

Devlin POV

Staring at Lucian, I was trying hard to hold myself from lunging at him once more and slamming him right on the floor to shut his mouth up but doing so would worsen the situation.

After what I had done to Mike, Rose, and Rebecca, doing something more would paint me as a bad image to the others. Already I could sense their fears in the air not long ago, but now it seemed to be replaced with something else.

Lucian had won their support. Even though he was right, it wasn’t supposed to come from him. I was the Alpha. I was supposed to make the rule and anything I said here was the law, yet he had to come up and wreck this up for me.

I felt infuriated and my wolf was begging to come outside so he could shut them up and make Lucian know his place. But then I shoved him off to look at Elora, who I clung to my chest possessively.

“You have to…” I started but couldn’t finish after seeing the look of fear emerge in her eyes. Instantly I could tell she didn’t know what happened to her
