I'm not ready

Cassie's POV.

My mom took me to a particular section of the garden. She told me she had always come there to say a word of prayers for me and drop flowers which I could find on the ground. She knelt down again and asked me to do so too. She said we would be saying a word of prayer in appreciation that she finally found me.

When we were done, she took me to a restaurant where we went to have dinner.

It was an expensive restaurant which was richly decorated. On seeing my mother, all the restaurant workers bowed down. One of them had to call their manager to inform him that my mom was around.

It made him hurriedly come to meet us. He bowed too before my mom asked him to look up at her.

"You didn't inform us you would be coming today," he said to my mom. She smiled before replying.

"I was passing by with my daughter and thought we should come visit this place when we felt very famished."

"Oh, is she your daughter? The one I heard had been found, your majesty?" He asked and slightly bowed to me before looking up.

"Yes she is the one," my mom replied with a smile on her lips.

"Welcome back Princess, you are welcome to one of the best restaurants in this kingdom. This is one of our numerous branches," The manager said.

"Thank you," I replied with a smile.

"Place your orders ma'am, I'm going to personally instruct the chef to prepare something delicious for the both of you while we bring an appetizer that would keep you busy while you wait," the manager said to my mom with a smile.

"Is it okay with you, Cassi?" My mom asked. I nodded because I felt very okay with it.

"Alright, we will be right back," the manager said and turned to leave in a hurry.

"This is one of our numerous restaurants. We have our branches scattered all over the place," my mom said to me which left me in awe.

"Wow, the restaurant is beautiful and I had my eyes glued to it. Who designed the sculptural works and the interior?" I asked my mom as I continued looking around. I couldn't get enough of the beauty yet.

"A famous designer did, do you love them?" My mom asked. I smiled and nodded my head.

"You would see more, this one just one of our numerous beautiful places. I guess I haven't told you about the museum or general library?" My mom said with a smile as she looked at me.

"No, you haven't," I replied and looked back at her.

"Your dad was the one who built them after he succeeded his father. He wanted to redevelop the kingdom and redesign it. That was why he came with lots of new infrastructure in our name. You would get to visit them one after the other okay," my mom said. I nodded my head in agreement.

Some waiters brought some appetizers, juice, wine and others to our table. They placed it before leaving. Another one stood there with us to serve us the desired quantity we needed before walking a little bit further away from our table to give us some chance.

"It looks so delicious," I cried out as I stared at the different appetizers lying in front of me.

"Yeah it is. These are just appetizers. What are you going to say when you are served the main meals?" My mom asked.

I couldn't reply because I was busy staring at the mouth watering appetizers lying in front of me which was very hard to resist.

"Dig in Princess, I know you cannot wait," my mom said just like she knew I couldn't. I hurriedly dug into the first one in front of me. The taste was so heavenly like not tasting others. My mom had to ask me to taste others too which I did.

They were equally all good. I had to eat every one of them because of how good they tasted. Immediately we were done with the appetizers.

The manager and the cook arrived with some waiters carrying different types of meals which they kept on our table. My eyes nearly popped out of its socket when I saw the train of foods.

I was already becoming filled up with the one I had eaten and other ones were already coming but I was already determined to taste all of it so I didn't feel like backing down yet as I would love to see the end of it.

The waiters served all the meals before they walked away. My mom smiled at me and asked me to start eating.

I quickly did because I couldn't wait to do so myself.

We ended up eating a lot before we decided to start heading home. I was filled and very tired but still wished to have such an experience again.

My mom laughed at my condition in the car because it was obvious. She asked me not to try to eat much again if I'm not the type that can bear eating so much.

I didn't reply because I knew I would do so again. It wasn't like I'm hungry or haven't had a good meal all my life. It was just that the meals were good and I couldn't imagine wasting them.

We were already back before dusk. My mother's driver brought us back. We met the house empty, my father was out probably on an important meeting or function.

I walked into my room to freshen up and have a bath. While on it, my mom knocked softly on my door.

I walked towards it and opened it. I smiled as she got in and came to sir next to me.

"Are you done?" She asked me. I nodded as I fumbled with my dress. There were lots of things on my mind which I couldn't yet quit thinking about. Like the people I had always known as my parents.

I wondered how they were doing and how they would be feeling about me. I know they would be thinking that I'm dead Because anyone who falls off the cliff is not believed to survive.

I didn't know I would survive the fall too that's why I pushed myself down. To end it all.

"Are you thinking about them?" She asked me which brought me out of my thoughts. I looked up, my eyes met with hers before o looked away.

"Yes," I whispered and nodded swiftly. My mom took my hand and started caressing it softly.

"Do you want to go visit them?" She asked me. I quickly looked up and shook my head. That would be impossible.

They lied to me, I wouldn't forget that soon. I still have that anger in me. Thru weren't also ready to tell me the truth until I overheard them saying it.

"Why would I go back to people who lied to me?" I asked myself.

I wasn't ready for that. I wasn't ready to face them again and hear all that they have to say to me because it would break me down beyond repair. We are talking about my trust being broken.

I couldn't help but cry as I thought about this. My mom hugged me and started saying it was okay, that I can go ahead to cry which I did on her shoulder. I cried until I couldn't feel the pain anymore. My mom only rubbed my back while consoling me.

She allowed me to cry as I wanted to before I stopped and wiped my tears off.

"I'm sorry," I said to her with a smile.

She also smiled and replied.

"It's nothing, it's okay to feel bad and miss your parents. I totally understand."

"You know, all these years that we lost you. We were also feeling so bad and hurt, especially me. Your dad does anything to make me happy and assure me that you were not lost but would come back. That was why he never stopped searching for you," she said to me with a smile as she combed my hair.

"You might miss your other family but we are now also your family, and we ain't just any family but your main Family. It's high time you stop crying over them and move on.

I hugged her and cleaned my tears. All that she was saying to me was right. I was crying for other people in front of my own biological mother, it would make her feel very hurt and not competent enough. It might make her remember how she lost me and think that she wasn't good enough.

I quickly dried my tears and looked up at her with a smile. She also looked up at me with a smile which gave me all the comfort I ever needed to be okay and calm. I ended up dozing off in her arms while she gently stroked my hair.
