Chapter 47: LIES AND CONFUSION

The next day before we leave for Adriana's friend's cabin, I head into the office early in the morning to get some documents and leave instructions for my staff. I really don't know when we'll be back, we'll have to work remotely from the cabin. It's a good thing Killian got somebody to put up a signal jammer at the cabin so nobody can track us.

I get to the office and Emma is already there waiting for me. "Oh, Emma, you're a lifesaver. Thank you so much for coming in so early."

She smiles. "It's no problem Lena, I'll do anything to help."

"Ok, let's go to my office and talk." We both walk into my office and take a seat.

"So you're going to take on three of my cases, the rest I should be back before we have to go to court. Kate doesn't have any pending cases in court so the rest she'll meet with them over Skype. And another thing while we're gone you're in charge." I tell her.

She looks at me in shock. "Are you serious Lena?"
