Mr James was back home – reeking of alcohol and looking dishevelled.

“My car broke down in the middle of the highway. Thank goodness I was on the outer lane.” He narrated to his wife without anyone asking.

Mrs. James rolled her eyes at him in irritation and suspiciousness.

“Quit the lies! You were out with Gabriella again. This time, why didn’t you lodge with her at the hotel?”

“O no! This woman has started again. Plus, I’m not in the mood for your rubbish tonight. I’m hungry and stressed.”

“Even after dining at the restaurant and who knows what else you ate apart from food.”

“I can see you want me to leave this house for you. Since you can’t give me some peace – I will leave.”

“Fine! Leave! Get out!”

“I will be going to Gabriella as you wish. She is not a nagging contemptuous woman like you.”

And he left in his dilapidated state.

Mrs James could care less if he hit a truck head-on as he drove in that reckless state.

He was wasted.

And she was not going to look after him if ever vomi
