Chapter 76

He could relate to how Lumi felt.

He had gotten into trouble in the States and landed in prison. He almost got deported.

He vividly remembered that day. He was drunk driving and hit a lady on the road whom he presumed to look like the lady he had met at the airport.

A cop came to the scene and arrested him.

He got into a cell with a hardened criminal.

Having a conversation with him is not what would have naturally ensued between a criminal and a mild saint.

He was expecting fists and punches with insults and swear words.

But this hardened criminal seemed to have been softened by the walls of the prison.

In another cell, opposite to me was another criminal who became more brutal in the cell.

Prison does that to one.

It can bring out the worst or best in a person.

And in Lumi’s case – if she stayed any longer; she’d become hardened.

What was the connectedness between Lumi and himself?

Why was he getting so attached to her as Fenris claimed?
