Making Amends
Staying away from my mate over this past week was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I pretty much avoided everyone who loves me. I had to tell Prince Julian and Violetta the truth, since I can’t avoid them. They were happy to learn that Alpha Blake did not actually betray me and agreed to keep quiet about what the goddess told me. They were initially surprised that I didn’t run to my mate after I spoke with the goddess. I had to explain to them I had to let everything play out fully in order to not change fate. There is too much riding on thing following into place a certain way. I don’t understand all the inner workings, but I trust the goddess and I know things will work out. We make it back to Jarvis’ pack. All of our focus now is on training and preparing for war that is now imminent. Jarvis and Garnett will be working together to train packs to counter magical attacks. It’s been two weeks of daily training. Seleste and I train together in the morning and train with the warriors in the evening. We also made training mandatory for all shifted pack members who were not pregnant, ill, or elderly. Some of the older wolves have also elected to take part in the training, although it is not mandatory for them. It’s been a couple of weeks since Seleste and I first sparred against each other. Now all the warriors stop to see us spar together. I have been planning a special night for Seleste and me with my mom. I want to make this a night she will remember for the rest of our lives. I asked my mom to set up a dinner, movie, and romantic night in my special area at the edge of our territory. There is this valley in the middle of the forest with a stream running through it. There are dense woods all around the area, but right in the middle is the perfect place to view the moon at night. The stream running through the area is crystal clear and cleaning than any other water source in the country. There is a legend that says the goddess protects the stream. It is said that the water has healing properties. To our pack, this area is sacred. It is the perfect place for Seleste and me to rebuild our bond and restart our matehood officially. Seleste and I spend a little more time with our team, then we head out to the front of the packhouse. I have the horse and carriage waiting for us as we exit the house. Just seeing the happy and excited expression on Seleste’s face lets me know that this was a good call. This is the perfect time for a horse and carriage ride.
