Ella’s POV

I looked into the empty eyes of the coachman, trembling as I patted his face. There was no vitality. I glared at the man in the black trench coat in disbelief.

"We saved you, yet you killed him. You ungrateful beast."

He casually twisted his wrist, nonchalantly scratching his neck, as if killing someone was of no consequence.

Filled with a sense of impending danger, I propped myself up and bent down to retrieve a surgical knife from the medical kit. Suddenly, a large hand descended from the top of the carriage, pressing me down forcefully. I felt an immense pressure instantly, making it difficult to breathe.

"Let go of me!" I struggled, but the hand tightly squeezed my throat, nearly suffocating me.

"Don't move, behave, or face the consequences," the man's voice sounded beside my ear, tinged with a sickly growl.

"Let go, you bastard!" I continued to resist.

Fear surged within me like a tidal wave. This man had just killed my coachman, and now he was coming after me!
