Elizabeth’s POV

Max prepared a car for us to use back to the Black Lake Pack. Inside the car, there’s me, Father, and Max. And Father was the one who opened his mouth first.

“So, Hogan did not kidnap you. Right, my dear?”

I looked at Max before answering his question. He was grinning at me, as if telling me that I am not allowed to tell him the truth, or else, the Alpha would kill my Beta Father.

And so, I slowly nodded my head, clenching my fists at the tips of my hands, which were all shaking.

“Yes, Father. Hogan did not abduct me. I left the house and he found me in the woods. And then, he gave me shelter while I was recovering,” I said.
