Chapter 78

Third Person’s POV

Elizabeth’s father was standing by the window. Despite the cold, he stayed there, welcoming the cold wind. With the help of the bright moon, Elizabeth saw the twinkling of his eyes- tears with remorse and guilt.

Watching her father, she felt sorrowful. Elizabeth approached him with a desolate look on her face.

“Dad.”

Paul turned his head to his daughter.

“My dear.”

It was a lie to say that Elizabeth never resented her father for bringing Betty and Elaina into her life. She did resent him. All resentment, however, dispersed. She was thankful that her father took her side and believed in her unconditionally.

“You’re still up? I told you to rest,” Paul said.

“I couldn’t sleep, Dad. Things happened too fast.”

“You’re right. I took you out of the Blood Moon Pack, and then Betty and Elaina weren’t here anymore.”

The season was changing, and the wind was turning colder than before. Black Lake has colder weather than there is in the Blood Moon.
