Chapter 85

Elizabeth’s POV

The cloudy sky cleared when night came. The night sky was picturesque, a black-to-navy gradient was the backdrop for the full moon.

The moon was glowing red, loomed large, surrounded by an ethereal glow as millions of stars were sprinkled behind it. It was supposed to give me joy, but I was feeling suffocated instead.

My tight corset made it difficult for me to breathe, and I felt imprisoned. I looked in the mirror and saw that my white wedding dress was so spotless, it seemed like a shame to risk the least dust. But looking at myself in the dazzling gown, I felt so nauseous.

I wanted to tear this perfect dress to shreds, throw it on the floor, and spit on it. I had to resist the urge by clenching my fists.

‘Regis will come to stop the wedding. Yet I must be ready for the worst-case scenario. If he can’t come, there is another way. I guarantee that.’
