All core members of the patrol team accepted Burke’s idea, and Scott couldn’t refuse because he didn’t want a rift between himself and his friends. This could impact the solidity of the patrol team and would even be bad for Ciara.

Scott was looking for the right time to tell Ciara. On the way back home, they both remained silent. Ciara seemed exhausted and reluctant to speak. She must not be at ease after the things with Scott’s friends and Gordon. Scott would give her some time to rest, prepare dinner for her, and silently promise himself not to be offended if Ciara didn’t want to eat it, and then they would talk.

As they entered the house, Scott and Ciara looked at each other and spoke almost simultaneously.

“I’ll cook dinner,” Scott said.

“Wh—where is my room?” Ciara asked.
