Nightmare

“Ciara.”

Ciara’s heart throbbed in a very painful way. She could feel her veins pounding against her flesh and skin. Her blood flowed like a rushing river that made her body as hot as burning coals.

Someone walked up to her from the darkness at the far end of the room.

No way. She returned to this place. A place surrounded by steel walls and thick windows that were impervious to attack. Her wolf had repeatedly tried to destroy the glass but had ended up hurting herself.

Those people, the humans in black and flannel shirts, were looking at her like a pet through the window, giving their assessments and discussing her behavior. Ciara’s life and death were in their hands. And every single thing they do to her only hurts her.

“Ciara, come here. Don’t be afraid.”

The sound of a trolley wheel accompanied the voice rolling towards her. She could even hear the tinkling of the needles and the air being drawn in as the person moved the syringe in his hand.

“No,” she mumbled. She shook her head
