Goodbye

She rolled on her back, her hair was a mess, each curl intertwined with another strand as Elinor lay on the bed. She fell asleep long after she had that well-needed cry out in the backyard drinking tea with Tatiana.

She pulled herself so half her body is leaning on the headrest. The small slit in the curtains tells her that it is already night. The faint moonlight seeped through the thin sheets of the curtain.

A sense of alarm rushed inside her system. Remembering that tonight is Colin's departure, her heart was drumming inside her chest. A part of her was afraid and worried that she was too late and that Colin had already left before she could see him.

Still wearing her nightgown, she jumped off her bed and put on a robe. She hastily tied the knot around her waist. Never minding the cold, she walked barefoot on the cold floor.
