I cannot believe the words Carter shared with me. He had fixed everything. He had banished Margie from the Pack. Elder Timothy was dead. Alpha Matt was going to our dungeons. Did that mean for once I was safe? That I could let my guard down and simply enjoy my life? Would Carter mark me now?

I wanted to ask him, but the time was not right. Sitting with just a blanket around my naked, marked up and dirty body, I wanted to be clean. I needed a shower.
